Ms. Marilyn Turley
Marilyn Turley is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Missouri Southern University for her undergraduate studies on a full track and field scholarship. She later received her Master of Education degree with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University.
Marilyn started her professional career as a physical education teacher in Kansas City. After moving to Georgia, she worked for Clayton County Schools in an elementary setting. Currently, she works in Atlanta Public Schools as a middle school health teacher, athletic director, and department chairperson. She also coaches girl’s high school track within the district. Collectively, she has over thirty years of experience in teaching and coaching.
While Marilyn’s entire career has been in an urban setting, it has afforded her the opportunity to positively impact the lives of countless at-risk youth. Through her involvement with athletics and coaching programs, she serves selflessly as a role model and mentor for young people both on and off the field. Marilyn is passionate about education and developing leadership skills in young adults through sports. She has assisted countless athletes with securing both athletic and academic scholarships. Over the years, Marilyn has shaped the lives of many and welcomes the opportunity to continue to do so by serving on the Board for LB Legacy Network, Inc.
